이 유전자는 당단백질(gp)130 사이토카인 계열의 구성원이며 cardiotrophin-like cytokine factor 1 (CLCF1)을 인코딩합니다. CLCF1은 cytokine receptor-like factor 1 (CRLF1)과 이종이량체 복합체를 형성합니다. 이 이량체는 ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF)와 ciliary neurotrophic factor receptor (CNTFR) 복합체에 대한 결합을 놓고 경쟁하며, Jak-STAT 신호 전달 캐스케이드를 활성화합니다. CLCF1은 가용성 type I CRLF1 또는 가용성 CNTFR과 복합체를 형성하여 세포 밖으로 활발하게 분비될 수 있습니다. CLCF1은 강력한 신경영양 인자, B-세포 자극제 및 뇌하수체 부신피질자극세포 기능의 신경내분비 조절자입니다.
