유전자 개요
WNT 유전자 계열(WNT gene family)은 분비형 신호 단백질(secreted signaling protein)을 암호화하는 구조적으로 유사한 유전자들로 구성되며, 이 단백질들은 종양 발생(oncogenesis) 및 배아 발생(embryogenesis) 중 세포 운명 결정과 체제 형성(patterning) 조절을 포함한 다양한 발생 과정에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있다. WNT3A는 WNT 유전자 계열의 구성원으로, 마우스 Wnt3A 단백질과 96%, 또 다른 WNT 계열 산물인 인간 WNT3 단백질과 84%의 아미노산 동일성(amino acid identity)을 나타내는 단백질을 암호화한다. 이 유전자는 또 다른 계열 구성원인 WNT14 유전자와 함께 염색체 1q42 영역에 군집(cluster)하여 위치한다.
