유전자 개요
이 유전자는 B7 공동자극 단백질(B7 costimulatory protein) 계열에 속하는 단백질을 암호화한다. 이 계열 단백질은 항원 제시 세포(antigen-presenting cells) 표면에 존재하며, T 세포 표면의 수용체에 결합한 리간드(ligand)와 상호작용한다. 암호화된 단백질의 높은 수준은 종양(tumor) 진행과 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이 유전자의 유사 위유전자(pseudogene)는 염색체 20에 위치한다. 다양한 아이소폼(isoform)을 암호화하는 여러 전사 변이체(transcript variant)가 이 유전자에서 발견되었다.
