유전자 개요

유비퀴틴(ubiquitin)을 이용한 단백질 변형은 비정상적이거나 수명이 짧은 단백질을 분해하도록 표적화하는 중요한 세포 기작입니다. 유비퀴틴화(ubiquitination)는 최소 세 종류의 효소(E1, E2, E3)를 포함합니다. 이 유전자는 E2 유비퀴틴 결합 효소 계열의 구성원을 암호화합니다. 이 효소는 시험관 내에서 p53, c-Fos, 그리고 NF-kB 전구체 p105의 유비퀴틴화에 참여하는 것으로 입증되었습니다. 이 유전자에 대해 몇 가지 대체 스플라이싱 전사체 변이체가 발견되었습니다.
