TRIP13은 갑상샘 호르몬(thyroid hormone) 수용체와 상호작용하는 단백질을 암호화하며, 이 수용체는 호르몬 의존성 전사인자(transcription factor)로도 알려져 있다. 해당 단백질은 수용체의 리간드(ligand) 결합 도메인과 특이적으로 상호작용한다. TRIP13은 초기 비소세포폐암(non-small cell lung cancer)에서 역할을 할 가능성이 있는 여러 유전자 중 하나이다.
