유전자 개요
TIMP4는 TIMP 유전자 패밀리에 속하며, 이 패밀리가 암호화하는 단백질은 세포외기질(extracellular matrix) 분해에 관여하는 펩티다아제(peptidase) 군인 기질 금속단백분해효소(matrix metalloproteinase)의 억제제이다. TIMP4가 암호화하는 분비형 네트린 도메인(netrin domain) 함유 단백질은 혈소판(platelet) 응집 및 동원 조절에 관여한다. 또한 호르몬 조절과 자궁내막 조직 재형성에도 역할을 할 가능성이 있다.
