유전자 개요

TGFBR2가 암호화하는 단백질은 단백질 키나아제(kinase) 도메인을 지닌 막관통(transmembrane) 단백질로, TGF-beta 수용체 1형과 이종이량체(heterodimer) 복합체를 이루며 TGF-beta에 결합한다. 이 수용체/리간드(ligand) 복합체는 표적 단백질을 인산화하고, 인산화된 단백질은 세포핵으로 이동해 세포 증식, 세포 주기 정지, 상처 치유, 면역억제, 종양 발생과 관련된 유전자의 전사(transcription)를 조절한다. TGFBR2의 돌연변이는 마르팡 증후군(Marfan Syndrome), 로이스-디츠 대동맥류 증후군(Loeys-Dietz Aortic Aneurysm Syndrome), 여러 유형의 종양 발생과 연관되며, 서로 다른 아이소폼(isoform)를 암호화하는 선택적 스플라이싱 전사체 변이들이 보고되어 있다.
