유전자 개요
TFDP1은 E2F 단백질과 이량체(heterodimer)를 형성해 DNA 결합 활동(DNA-binding activity)을 증대하고 E2F 표적 유전자의 전사(transcription)를 촉진하는 전사(transcription) 전사인자(transcription factor) 가족 구성원을 암호화한다. 암호화된 단백질은 이 복합체의 일부로서 G1기에서 S기로의 세포 주기(cell cycle) 진행에 관련된 많은 유전자의 전사 활동을 조절한다. 선택적 접합(alternative splicing)으로 여러 전사체 변이(transcript variant)가 생성되며, 이 유전자의 위유전자(pseudogene)는 1, 15, X 염색체에 존재한다.
