유전자 개요
TAL1은 E-box 결합 활성, RNA 중합효소(RNA polymerase) II 특이적 DNA 결합 전사인자 결합 활성, 히스톤 탈아세틸화효소(histone deacetylase) 결합 활성 등 여러 기능을 수행한다. 골수계 세포 분화, 세포 구성요소 조직화의 양성 조절, 적혈구(erythrocyte) 분화의 양성 조절을 비롯한 여러 과정에 관여하며, 염색질(chromatin)과 핵질(nucleoplasm)에 위치하면서 전사 조절 복합체를 구성한다. 급성 림프모구 백혈병(acute lymphoblastic leukemia)과의 연관성이 보고되어 있다.
