유전자 개요
황산기전이효소(sulfotransferase enzyme)는 여러 호르몬, 신경전달물질, 약물 및 외인성 화합물의 황산화(sulfate conjugation)를 촉매한다. 이 세포질 효소는 조직 분포와 기질 특이성에서 차이를 보인다. 이 유전자는 열안정성 효소 활성을 가진 두 종류의 페놀 황산기전이효소(phenol sulfotransferase) 중 하나를 암호화한다. 두 가지 아이소폼(isoform)을 암호화하는 여러 대체 스플라이싱 변이체(alternatively spliced variant)가 이 유전자에서 확인되었다.
