유전자 개요

STAM2 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 사이토카인(cytokine) 수용체의 하위 신호 전달에 관여하는 어댑터 단백질인 STAM과 밀접하게 관련되어 있다. 이 단백질들은 모두 SH3 도메인과 면역수용체 티로신 활성화 모티프(immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif, ITAM)를 포함한다. STAM과 유사하게, 이 단백질은 JAK 키나아제(kinase) 하위에서 작용하며 사이토카인 자극에 반응하여 인산화된다. 따라서 이 단백질과 STAM은 사이토카인 자극 시 JAK 키나아제 하위 신호 전달 경로에서 보상 작용을 나타내는 것으로 여겨진다.
