유전자 개요
이 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 GTPase(구아닌 삼인산 가수분해효소)이며, 동종이량체(homodimer)로 작용한다. PREB(guanine nucleotide exchange factor)에 의해 활성화되는 이 단백질은 소포체(endoplasmic reticulum)에서 골지체(Golgi)로의 단백질 수송에 관여한다. 이 단백질은 COPII coat complex의 일부이다. 이 유전자의 결함은 chylomicron retention disease (CMRD) 또는 Anderson disease (ANDD)를 유발한다. 동일 단백질을 암호화하는 두 개의 전사 변이체(transcript variant)가 이 유전자에서 발견되었다.
