유전자 개요
이 유전자는 EF-핸드 칼슘 결합 모티프 2개를 포함하는 S100 단백질 계열의 구성원 단백질을 지정한다. S100 단백질은 다양한 세포의 세포질 및/또는 세포핵에 위치하며, 세포 주기 진행 및 분화와 같은 여러 세포 과정 조절에 관여한다. 이 단백질은 칼슘 이온(Ca2+) 유발 칼슘 이온 방출 촉진, 미세소관 조립 억제, 단백질 키나아제 C(protein kinase C)-매개 인산화 억제 작용을 할 수 있다.
