유전자 개요
리보솜은 단백질 합성을 촉매하는 복합체로, 작은 40S 소단위체와 큰 60S 소단위체로 구성됩니다. 이 유전자는 60S 소단위체의 구성 성분인 리보솜 단백질을 지정합니다. 이 단백질은 리보솜 단백질의 L3P 계열에 속하며 세포질에 위치합니다. 이 단백질은 HIV-1 TAR mRNA에 결합할 수 있으며, tat 매개 트랜스활성화에 기여하는 것으로 제안되었습니다. 본 유전자는 여러 인트론 내에 위치한 여러 개의 작은 핵 소 RNA(small nucleolar RNA) 유전자와 함께 전사됩니다. 다른 아이소폼을 지정하는 대체 전사 스플라이스 변이체들이 특성화되었습니다. 리보솜 단백질을 지정하는 유전자의 일반적인 특징으로, 유전체에 분산된 여러 개의 가공된 유사유전자(processed pseudogenes)가 존재합니다.
