유전자 개요
이 유전자는 60S 리보솜(ribosome) 소단위체의 구성 성분인 리보솜 단백질을 암호화한다. 연관된 닭 단백질은 c-Jun에 결합하여 c-Jun 매개 전사 활성화를 억제할 수 있다. 일부 연구에서는 이 유전자의 변이가 자폐 스펙트럼 장애와 관련이 있음을 보고했으나, 다른 연구에서는 이러한 관계를 발견하지 못했다. 이 유전자에는 게놈 전반에 걸쳐 분포하는 여러 개의 유사 위유전자(pseudogene)가 존재한다. 대안적 스플라이싱(alternative splicing)은 여러 전사체 변이체(transcript variant)를 생성한다.
