유전자 개요
ROBO1은 면역글로불린(immunoglobulin) 유전자 슈퍼패밀리(superfamily)에 속하며, 축삭 유도(axon guidance)와 신경 전구세포 이동에 관여하는 막 통합(integral membrane) 단백질을 암호화한다. 이 수용체는 SLIT 계열 단백질에 의해 활성화되어 발달 중인 뇌에서 교종(glioma) 세포 유도에 반발 효과를 일으킨다. 3번 염색체의 인접 영역에 관련 유전자가 위치하며, 서로 다른 동형 단백질(isoform)을 암호화하는 여러 전사체 변이가 보고되었다.
