유전자 개요
RGS6 유전자는 GTPase 활성인자(GTPase-activating) 활성을 부여하는 RGS 도메인을 특징으로 하는 G 단백질 신호 조절(regulator of G protein signaling, RGS) 단백질 계열의 구성원을 암호화한다. 이 단백질은 DEP와 GGL 도메인을 포함하는 RGS 단백질 아계열에 속하며, GGL 도메인은 G 베타 5와 상호작용하는 부위이다. RGS 단백질은 G 단백질 신호 전달을 하향 조절하며, 신경, 심혈관, 림프구 활성 및 암(cancer) 위험을 조절할 수 있다.
