PR3는 효소 결합(enzyme binding), 세린형 엔도펩티다아제(serine-type endopeptidase) 활성, 신호전달 수용체 결합(signaling receptor binding) 활성을 가능하게 한다. 성숙한 일반 수지상세포(conventional dendritic cell) 분화, 호중구 혈관외유출(neutrophil extravasation), GTPase 활성의 양성 조절을 포함한 여러 과정에 관여한다. 아주르친화 과립(azurophil granule) 내강, 세포질(cytosol), 세포막 래프트(plasma membrane raft)에 위치한다.
