유전자 개요

PDPN 유전자는 인체 다양한 조직에 분포하는 1형 통합 막(membrane) 당단백질(glycoprotein)을 암호화한다. 이 단백질은 분화 항원(antigen)과 인플루엔자 바이러스 수용체(receptor)와 유사한 특성으로 기술되었으나, 인체에서의 특정 기능은 아직 밝혀지지 않았고 폐 손상 마커로 제안되었다. 서로 다른 아이소폼(isoform)을 암호화하는 대안 접합 전사 변이체들이 확인되었다.
