유전자 개요

이 유전자가 지정하는 단백질은 세포핵(nucleus)에서 발견되며 DNA 중합효소 델타(DNA polymerase delta)의 보조 인자(cofactor)로 작용한다. 암호화된 단백질은 동종 삼량체(homotrimer)로 기능하며 DNA 복제(replication) 중 선도 가닥 합성의 진행성(processivity)을 증가시키는 데 도움을 준다. DNA 손상에 반응하여 이 단백질은 유비퀴틴화(ubiquitination)되고 RAD6 의존적 DNA 복구 경로에 관여한다. 이 유전자에 대해 동일한 단백질을 암호화하는 두 개의 전사체 변이체(transcript variant)가 발견되었다. 이 유전자의 위유전자(pseudogene)는 4번 염색체와 X 염색체에서 기술되었다.
