유전자 개요
PAK1은 세린/트레오닌 p21 활성화 키나아제(PAK proteins) 가족에 속하는 단백질로, RhoGTPases와 세포골격(cytoskeleton) 재구성 및 핵 신호전달을 연결하는 핵심 이펙터이며 Cdc42 및 Rac 같은 소분자 GTP 결합 단백질의 표적이기도 하다. 이 가족 구성원은 세포 운동성과 형태를 조절하며, 돌연변이는 거대두증, 발작, 언어 발달 지연과 연관된다. 또한 유방암(breast cancer)을 포함한 다양한 암(cancer)에서 과발현되며, 선택적 스플라이싱으로 여러 전사체 변이체가 생성된다.
