유전자 개요
OS9 유전자는 골육종(osteosarcoma)에서 높게 발현되는 단백질을 암호화한다. 이 단백질은 저산소증 반응 및 혈관신생(angiogenesis)의 핵심 조절 인자인 hypoxia-inducible factor 1 (HIF-1)에 결합하여, 그 하위 단위체 중 하나를 분해를 촉진한다. 다양한 아이소폼(isoform)을 암호화하는 대립 유전자 전사 스플라이스 변이체(transcriptional splice variant)들이 규명되었다.
