유전자 개요
이 유전자는 핵 RNA 수출 인자(nuclear RNA export factor) 유전자 가족의 일원이다. 가족의 공통 구조적 특징은 비정형 RNP형 RNA 결합 도메인(RBD), 4개의 류신 풍부 반복 서열(LRR), NTF2 관련 수출 단백질-1(NXT1)과 이형이량체를 형성하는 핵 수송 인자 2(NTF2) 유사 도메인, 그리고 뉴클레오포린과 상호작용을 매개하는 유비퀴틴(ubiquitin) 관련 도메인이다. 이 유전자에 의해 암호화되는 단백질은 세포핵(nucleus)과 세포질(cytoplasm) 사이를 왕복하며 생체 내에서 poly(A)+ RNA에 결합하고, 척추동물의 효모 Mex67p 상동체이다.
