유전자 개요
이 유전자는 핵 기질의 구조적 구성 요소를 형성하는 거대 단백질을 암호화한다. 이 단백질은 미세소관과 상호작용하며 세포 분열 중 유사분열 방추의 형성 및 조직화에 역할을 한다. 17번 염색체의 RARA(retinoic acid receptor, alpha) 유전자와의 염색체 전좌가 급성 전골수성 백혈병 환자에서 발견되었다. 대안적 스플라이싱은 여러 전사 변이체를 생성한다.
