유전자 개요
이 유전자는 여러 단백질 산물을 생성하도록 단백질 분해 가공되는 전구단백질(preproprotein)을 암호화합니다. 이 산물에는 나트륨이뇨 펩타이드(natriuretic peptide) 계열에 속하는 심장 나트륨이뇨 펩타이드(cardiac natriuretic peptide)인 CNP-53, CNP-29, CNP-22가 포함됩니다. 암호화된 펩타이드는 실험 동물에서 혈관 이완 활성을 나타내며, 만성 심부전 환자의 혈장에서는 CNP-22 수치 상승이 관찰되었습니다.
