유전자 개요
NFATC2는 활성화 T 세포(nuclear factor of activated T cells, NFAT) 계통의 구성원이다. 이 유전자 생성물은 REL 상동 영역(REL-homology region, RHR)과 NFAT 상동 영역(NFAT-homology region, NHR)을 지닌 DNA 결합 단백질로, 세포질에 있다가 T 세포 수용체(T cell receptor, TCR) 자극 시 세포핵(nucleus)으로 이동하여 활성화 T 세포 전사 복합체의 일원이 된다. 이 복합체는 면역 반응에서 유전자 전사(transcription)를 유도하는 핵심 역할을 하며, 상이한 아이소폼(isoform)을 암호화하는 여러 전사적 접합 변이체가 확인되었다.
