유전자 개요

MTTP는 이형이량체 미세소체 트리글리세리드 전달 단백질(microsomal triglyceride transfer protein)의 큰 소단위(large subunit)를 암호화한다. 여기에 단백질 이황화물 이성질화효소(protein disulfide isomerase, PDI)가 결합해 이형이량체를 완성하며, 이 복합체는 지질단백질(lipoprotein) 조립에서 중심적인 역할을 하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. MTTP의 돌연변이는 무베타지질단백혈증(abetalipoproteinemia)을 유발할 수 있다.
