유전자 개요
이 단백질은 효모 CDC46 단백질과 구조적으로 매우 유사하며, DNA 복제 개시에 관여한다. 이 단백질은 염색질(chromatin) 결합 단백질인 MCM 계열의 구성원이며, 이 계열의 적어도 두 개의 다른 구성원과 상호작용할 수 있다. 이 단백질은 세포 주기(cell cycle) 중 G0기에서 G1/S기로 전환될 때 상향 조절되며, 세포 주기 조절에 적극적으로 참여할 수 있다.
