LYVE1 유전자는 제1형 막 통과성 당단백질(glycoprotein)을 암호화한다. 이 단백질은 수용체(receptor)로서 용해성 및 고정된 히알루론산(hyaluronan) 모두에 결합한다. 이 단백질은 림프관 히알루론산 수송에 관여할 수 있으며 종양(tumor) 전이(metastasis)에도 역할을 할 수 있다.
