유전자 개요
이 유전자는 잠재성 TGF-베타 결합 단백질(LTBP) 계열에 속하는 단백질을 암호화한다. TGF-베타의 분비와 활성화는 잠재성 연관 단백질 및 잠재성 TGF-베타 결합 단백질과의 연관에 의해 조절된다. 이 유전자의 산물은 전환 성장 인자 베타(transforming growth factor beta)의 잠재성 복합체를 세포외 기질로 표적화하며, 여기서 잠재성 사이토카인(cytokine)은 이후 여러 다른 기전에 의해 활성화된다. 다른 아이소폼을 암호화하는 대체 스플라이싱 전사체 변이체가 확인되었다.
