KPNA2 단백질은 DNA 헬리카아제(helicase) Q1 및 SV40 T 항원(antigen)의 핵 위치 결정 서열(Nuclear Localization Sequence, NLS)과 상호작용하여 단백질의 핵 내 수송에 관여할 수 있습니다. 또한, KPNA2는 V(D)J 재조합(recombination) 과정에서도 역할을 수행할 수 있습니다. KPNA2는 여러 전사체 변이형을 생성하는 대체 스플라이싱(alternative splicing)을 겪습니다.
