유전자 개요

JUN은 조류 육종 바이러스 17(avian sarcoma virus 17)의 추정 형질전환 유전자(transforming gene)로, 바이러스 단백질과 매우 유사한 단백질을 암호화한다. 이 단백질은 특정 표적 DNA 서열과 직접 상호작용하여 유전자 발현을 조절한다. 인트론이 없으며(intronless), 인간 악성종양에서 전좌(translocation)와 결실(deletion)에 모두 관여하는 염색체 영역인 1p32-p31에 위치한다.
