유전자 개요
이 유전자의 산물은 인테그린 알파 사슬 계열에 속합니다. 인테그린(integrin)은 알파 소단위체와 베타 소단위체로 구성된 이량체(heterodimeric) 막 단백질로, 세포 표면 부착 및 신호 전달에 관여합니다. 이 유전자가 지정하는 전구체 단백질은 절단되어 알파 V 소단위체를 구성하는 경쇄와 중쇄를 생성합니다. 알파 V 소단위체는 베타 1, 베타 3, 베타 5, 베타 6, 베타 8 소단위체와 결합합니다. 알파 V와 베타 3 소단위체로 이루어진 이량체는 또한 비트로넥틴 수용체(vitronectin receptor)라고도 불립니다. 이 인테그린은 혈관신생 및 암 진행을 조절할 수 있습니다.
