유전자 개요
이 유전자는 인터페론 조절 인자(IRF) 계열 단백질을 암호화한다. 이 계열은 바이러스 매개 인터페론 활성화, 세포 성장, 분화, 세포자멸사(apoptosis) 및 면역계 활성 조절 등 다양한 역할을 수행하는 전사 인자(transcription factor) 그룹이다. IRF 계열 구성원은 보존된 N-말단 DNA 결합 도메인과 트립토판(W) 반복 서열을 특징으로 한다. 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 면역결핍증 65(Immunodeficiency 65)를 유발한다.
