이 유전자는 인터루킨-17 수용체 (IL-17R) 단백질 계열에 속하는 막 단백질을 암호화한다. 해당 단백질은 인터루킨-17 수용체 신호 전달 복합체의 일부이며, 이 단백질과 IL-17R 간의 상호작용은 인터루킨을 필요로 하지 않는다. 또한, 이 유전자는 섬유아세포 성장 인자 (fibroblast growth factor) 신호 전달에 영향을 미쳐 MAPK/ERK 신호 전달을 통해 성장을 억제하거나 촉진한다. 대체 스플라이싱(alternative splicing)은 서로 다른 아이소폼(isoform)을 암호화하는 여러 전사체 변이체(transcript variant)를 생성한다.
