유전자 개요
이 유전자는 인터루킨-17 수용체 (IL-17RA)와 유사성을 공유하는 단일 통과 제1형 막 단백질을 암호화한다. 주로 조혈 세포에서 발현되고 IL-17A와만 높은 친화력으로 결합하는 IL-17RA와 달리, 이 단백질은 비조혈 조직에서 발현되며 IL-17A와 IL-17F 모두와 유사한 친화력으로 결합한다. 염증성 사이토카인인 IL-17A와 IL-17F는 염증 및 자가면역 질환의 진행과 관련이 있다. 다른 아이소폼을 암호화하는 여러 대체 전사체 변이체가 이 유전자에서 검출되었으며, 막관통 및 세포내 도메인이 없는 가용성, 분비 단백질이 사이토카인 신호 전달에 대한 세포외 길항제로 기능할 수 있다는 제안이 있었다.
