유전자 개요

이 유전자는 인슐린 유사 성장 인자 2 mRNA-결합 단백질 계열의 구성원을 암호화한다. 이 유전자가 지정하는 단백질은 네 개의 K homology domain과 두 개의 RNA recognition motif를 포함한다. 특정 유전자(인슐린 유사 성장 인자 2, beta-actin, beta-transducin repeat-containing protein 등)의 mRNA에 결합하여 이들의 번역을 조절함으로써 기능한다. 이 유전자에 대해 서로 다른 아이소폼(isoform)을 암호화하는 두 개의 전사 변이체(transcript variant)가 확인되었다.
