유전자 개요
이 유전자는 열충격단백질 70 (heat shock protein 70) 계열 단백질의 구성원을 암호화한다. 암호화된 단백질은 분자 샤페론인 열충격 관련 71 kDa 단백질 (Hsc70)의 뉴클레오타이드 교환 인자 (nucleotide exchange factor)로 기능한다. 또한, 이 단백질은 낭포성 섬유화 막관통 전도 조절인자 (cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator, CFTR) 단백질을 포함하여 잘못 접힌 단백질의 응집을 억제하는 홀더 (holdase)로서 독특하지만 관련된 역할을 수행한다. 이 단백질의 발현 증가는 여러 인간 암에서 관찰되었다.
