유전자 개요
히스타민(histamine)은 비만세포(mast cell), 장크롬친화성 유사세포(enterochromaffin-like cell), 신경세포(neuron)에서 분비되는 보편적인 신호전달 분자로, 그 다양한 작용은 G단백질 연결 수용체(G-protein coupled receptor) 상위군에 속하는 히스타민 수용체(histamine receptor) 계열에 의해 매개된다. HRH4 유전자는 주로 조혈세포(haematopoietic cell)에서 발현되는 히스타민 수용체를 암호화하며, 이 단백질은 염증(inflammation) 및 알레르기(allergy) 반응에 관여하는 것으로 여겨진다. 또한 이 유전자에서는 서로 다른 아이소폼(isoform)을 암호화하는 다수의 전사체 변이체(transcript variant)이 확인되었다.
