유전자 개요
이 유전자는 세포핵 내에서 이질 핵 알엔에이(heterogeneous nuclear RNA, hnRNA)와 함께 리보핵산단백질 복합체(ribonucleoprotein complex) 형성에 관여하는 단백질 계열의 구성원을 암호화한다. 이 유전자에서 지정한 단백질은 알엔에이(RNA)와 디엔에이(DNA) 모두에 친화력을 가지며, 비계 부착 영역(scaffold-attached region, SAR) 디엔에이에 결합한다. 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 조기 영아성 간질성 뇌병증 54형(epileptic encephalopathy, early infantile, 54)과 관련이 있는 것으로 보고되었다. 이 유전자의 유사 유전자가 14번 염색체에서 확인되었다.
