유전자 개요
HCFC1 유전자는 host cell factor 계열에 속하며, 다섯 개의 Kelch 반복 서열, fibronectin 유사 모티프, 그리고 높은 특이성을 지닌 절단 신호를 포함하는 여섯 개의 HCF 반복 서열을 가진 단백질을 암호화합니다. 이 핵 보조 활성 인자는 여섯 개의 가능한 부위 중 하나에서 단백질 분해 효소에 의해 절단되어 N-말단 사슬과 이에 상응하는 C-말단 사슬을 생성합니다. 최종 단백질 형태는 비공유적으로 결합된 N-말단 및 C-말단 사슬로 구성됩니다. 이 단백질은 세포 주기 조절 및 herpes simplex virus 감염 중 전사 조절에 관여합니다. 서로 다른 단백질 아이소폼을 암호화하는 대안적 스플라이싱 변이체들이 보고되었지만, 모든 변이체가 완전히 특성화된 것은 아닙니다.
