유전자 개요
이 유전자가 지정하는 단백질은 효소(enzyme)로, 시토크롬 c의 아포단백질(apoprotein)에 헴(heme) 그룹을 공유 결합으로 연결한다. 이 유전자의 결함은 소안구증후군 7형(microphthalmia syndromic type 7, MCOPS7)의 원인이 된다. 동일한 단백질을 암호화하는 세 개의 전사체 변이체(transcript variant)가 확인되었다.
