글루타치온 S-전이효소(Glutathione S-transferases, GSTs)는 환원된 글루타치온과 많은 소수성 및 친전자성 화합물의 접합 반응을 촉매하여 해독 작용에 중요한 역할을 하는 효소 계열입니다. 생화학적, 면역학적, 구조적 특성에 따라 수용성 GST는 알파, 뮤, 파이, 세타의 네 가지 주요 계열로 분류됩니다. 이 GST 계열 구성원은 외인성 물질 대사에서 기능하고 암 및 기타 질병에 대한 감수성에 관여한다고 여겨지는, 활성이 있고 기능적으로 다른 GSTP1 변이 단백질을 암호화하는 다형성 유전자입니다.
