유전자 개요
이 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 글루타티온-의존성 티올 전달 효소(glutathione-dependent thiol transferase) 및 탈하이드로아스코르브산 환원효소(dehydroascorbate reductase) 활성을 갖는 오메가 클래스 글루타티온 S-전달효소(glutathione S-transferase, GST)이다. GST는 외래 물질(xenobiotics) 및 발암 물질(carcinogens)의 대사에 관여한다. 암호화된 단백질은 동종이량체(homodimer)로 작용하며 세포질(cytoplasm)에서 발견된다. 이 유전자에 대해 서로 다른 아이소폼(isoform)을 암호화하는 세 개의 전사 변이체(transcript variant)가 확인되었다.
