유전자 개요
GRK5 유전자는 Ser/Thr 단백질 키나아제(Ser/Thr protein kinase) 계열에 속하는 구아닌 뉴클레오타이드 결합 단백질(guanine nucleotide-binding protein), 즉 G 단백질(G protein) 연결 수용체(G protein-coupled receptor) 키나아제 하위 계열의 일원을 암호화한다. 이 단백질은 활성화된 G 단백질 연결 수용체를 인산화(phosphorylates)하여 이들의 비활성화를 촉발한다. 또한 다형핵 백혈구(polymorphonuclear leukocyte, PMNs)의 운동성을 조절하는 데 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다.
