GPR18는 G protein-coupled 수용체(G protein-coupled receptor, GPCR) 활성을 지닌다. GPCR 신호전달경로에 참여할 것으로 예측되며, T 세포(T cell) 분화, 백혈구(leukocyte) 화학주성(chemotaxis)의 음성 조절, 그리고 종양 괴사 인자(tumor necrosis factor, TNF) 생성의 음성 조절에 상류 또는 그 과정에서 작용할 것으로 예측된다. 막(membrane)과 세포막(plasma membrane)에 존재할 것으로 예측되며, 세포막(plasma membrane)에서 활성을 보일 것으로 예측된다.
