이 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 리간드가 알려지지 않은 고아 G 단백질 결합 수용체(G protein-coupled receptor)이다. 이 유전자는 삼중 음성 유방암(triple-negative breast cancer)에서 과발현되며, 이 유전자의 파괴는 기저 유방암(basal breast cancer) 세포의 증식을 늦춘다. 따라서 해당 유전자는 삼중 음성 유방암의 잠재적 약물 표적이 된다.
