유전자 개요

이 유전자는 글리세롤지질 합성을 위한 기질(substrate)로 포화 지방산을 선호하는 미토콘드리아 효소(enzyme)를 암호화한다. 암호화된 효소는 이 대사 경로의 첫 단계를 촉매한다. 이 효소는 미토콘드리아와 소포체(endoplasmic reticulum)에 각각 존재하는 두 가지 형태가 있다. 이 유전자에 대해 두 개의 대체 스플라이싱 전사체 변이체(transcript variant)가 기술되었다. [RefSeq 제공, 2011년 10월]
