유전자 개요
GATA3는 전사인자(transcription factor)의 GATA 계열에 속하는 단백질을 암호화하며, 두 개의 GATA형 징크 징크핑거(zinc finger)를 가진다. 이 단백질은 T세포 발달의 중요한 조절자인 동시에 내피세포(endothelial cell) 생물학에서도 핵심적인 역할을 한다. GATA3 유전자의 결함은 감각신경성 난청(sensorineural deafness)과 신장 이형성(renal dysplasia)을 동반하는 부갑상선기능저하증(hypoparathyroidism)의 원인이 된다.
