GAB2 유전자는 GRB2-연관 결합 단백질(GAB) 유전자 계열의 구성원입니다. 이 단백질들은 pleckstrin homology (PH) 도메인을 포함하며, SHP2 티로신 인산가수분해효소 및 GRB2 어댑터 단백질과 결합합니다. 또한 사이토카인 및 성장인자 수용체, T세포 및 B세포 항원 수용체를 통한 자극에 반응하여 다양한 신호를 전달하는 어댑터 역할을 합니다. 이 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 고친화성 IgE 수용체 활성화에 대한 반응으로 포스파티딜이노시톨-3 키나아제의 주요 활성제입니다. 이 유전자에 대해 서로 다른 아이소폼을 암호화하는 두 개의 대체 스플라이싱 전사체가 기술되었습니다.
